Our team joined Planet Plus Kenya at Raha Kids Centre in Makueni County for an engaging tree seedling potting session. As part of our collaboration, Mercy Chepsuge, our MITIgation Project Assistant, worked alongside children and volunteers to prick out and pot Markhamia lutea and Warbugia ugandensis seedlings. The activity encouraged creativity and sustainability, with seedlings potted in reused packaging materials and coconut shells, then carefully placed under a shade net for care and monitoring. While the hands-on session was a success, the number of potting containers was not enough for all the seedlings. The Centre is now calling for more reused packaging materials to keep the effort going. We’re proud to help grow not just trees, but young minds, one seedling at a time.
