Half Year report 2024

By Victoria Wanjohi | Director and Impact Communication Lead

Activities Conducted

  1. Environmental Literacy Sessions: We conducted interactive workshops and seminars focusing on the basics of climate change, its impacts, and the importance of environmental stewardship. We also provided educational materials and resources to enhance students' understanding of climate science.
  2. Tree Growing Campaign: Organized tree planting events at each school to promote reforestation and contribute to carbon sequestration. Students participated in hands-on activities, learning how to plant and care for trees. We partnered with local environmental organizations to ensure the sustainability and maintenance of the planted trees.
  3. National Park Trips: Arranged educational tours to Ruma National Park, where students learned about biodiversity and conservation efforts firsthand.

Outcomes

  • Increased Awareness: Students demonstrated a higher level of understanding and concern about climate change and its impacts on their local environments.
  • Student Engagement: There was a notable increase in student-led initiatives aimed at improving their school environments and communities, including organizing clean-up drives and advocating for sustainable practices.
  • Practical Knowledge: Students gained valuable hands-on experience in tree planting and ecosystem management, fostering a deeper connection to their local biodiversity.
