Update on the Bonnie Memorial Children's Home

There has been a lot of activity at the Bonnie Memorial Children's home (BMCH) this summer!  A few weeks ago, the children at the home wrapped up the school year and participated in some special activities to celebrate. They performed a drama, shared some memory work, and ate a special meal in celebration of the end of their first year of school at the home.

Construction is also progressing.  We are wrapping up the second level and have started our third and final level of construction.  As soon as the top floor is complete, many of the children who now sleep in the first floor/basement will move to the top floor.  This is especially important as the number of children who will be living at the home has increased.  Although the orphanage was originally built to house children orphaned by Ebola, we are now also caring for children who were orphaned in the recent flooding and mudslides in Sierra Leone.

We are excited to report that we are fully funded for the second level, and have raised $15,000 of the $35,000 needed to complete the building.  We are so grateful for your support and look forward to continuing to partner with you as we push to full completion of the project!
