“We need to rebuild and repair our homes and other buildings.”
Having initially assisted in providing emergency assistance, Creating Hope International (CHI) is now focusing on helping the relatives of Nepalese children studying at the Yungdrung Bon Monastic Centre (YBMC) in Dholanji, India to repair or rebuild their homes or other buildings which were damaged or destroyed by the earthquake.
YBMC staff have been gathering information about the needs, coordinating with Triten Norbutse Monastery in Nepal, which has been helping with relief efforts and providing information about the greatest needs. In many cases, the villagers or monks themselves are making repairs to homes and buildings and gathering information for CHI about the greatest needs. It is a great tribute to the people of Nepal that they are doing much themselves to repair homes and buildings following the earthquake. We expect to have more information as to where donated funds will be used in our next report.
