Dear Patrons,

Happy New Year!!!

The last quarter of 2018 has been very eventful for us at Tamahar. There were a lot many festivals and special days that were celebrated by staffs and children of Tamahar like Dussehra, Diwali, Children’s Day, World Disability Day, Christmas and New Year. We also organized a couple of workshops and trainings for staff and parents of the children enrolled with us.

Another major event during this period was the half-yearly reports of Early Intervention kids in first week of October. All the children have shown remarkable progress this year, thanks to the patience and support of all stakeholders in this process.

The children actively got involved in making the events more inclusive and vibrant. Their enthusiasm and comprehensive explanation motivated the parents, staffs, donors and well-wishers to work even harder to make their future better.

The list of events we celebrated in Oct-Dec 2018:

  • Observed World Cerebral Palsy day on 7th October with a gathering of children, parents and staff at MES College Auditorium, Malleshwaram. On this occasion, we distributed special electric smart toothbrushes to our children donated by the France-based company Kolibree. This day also featured an interactive session with parents by the National Award winner for Best Employee with Cerebral Pasly, Mr Siddharth Jayakumar who shared his life story and his experiences growing up and working with CP.
  • Conducted an awareness workshop with one of the corporate donors, Websetra, at the company office with the employees.
  • We celebrated Ganeshotsav and Diwali with the staff and children of Tamahar. It was great fun for both.
  • We organized a fun-filled program for our children as well as Sambhav Foundation’s children as part of our Children’s Day celebrations. The event comprised programs such as magic show, music and dance performances by the children as well as a mini music concert.
  • Our children participated in Kalaangana 2018, the annual art and cultural fest organized by the Information and Resource Centre. Our children participated with great enthusiasm and put their best foot forward in every event they participated and our staff supported them with equal enthusiasm. We came away with 5 awards!
  • We celebrated World Disability Day through our annual event Prerana, always celebrated on the theme of Inclusion. We had Qatapultt Learning Solutions organizing sports activities for our children, parents and volunteers.
  • We also celebrated Christmas with the kids. One of the staff dressed up as Santa and gave gifts to all the children. They all then danced and sang with the Santa.

Your donations are the key in conducting such events and offering such exercises to the students.  We thank you from the bottom of our heart for your valuable donations which has enabled us to do so. We look forward for your continued support and engagement with our project.

If you have any questions or would like to engage with this project in some way, please feel free to email us at fr.tamahar@gmail.com, and we will get in touch with you.

Thanks & Best Regards,
