Looking forward

Chain of Courage

From February 2021, the VOKK (Dutch Childhood Cancer Parent Organisation) will continue under a different name. We would like the VOKK to be an association where everyone feels at home. We are there for everyone who has or has had to deal with childhood cancer: parents of children in and after treatment, parents of a deceased child, children, young people, brothers and sisters and (adult) survivors. Our association is a place where you can always go for support, recognition, a listening ear and understanding. Due to our current name (Vereniging Ouders, Kinderen en Kanker, translated: Association of Parents, Children and Cancer), this is not clear to everyone. By opting for a new "broader" name, we want to emphasize even more that we are there for everyone. We will keep a secret until February what the new logo will be! The new name we will share already though. This will be: The Dutch Childhood Cancer Association.

Our association is co-initiator and co-owner of the Princes Máxima Centrum. But we are and do more than that: we are the national interest group that has been committed to providing the best care and aftercare for the whole family since 1987. In addition, we are an important link between various organizations in pediatric oncology. In the past year, we have carefully examined the role and future sustainability of our association with our volunteers, the staff of the office and the board. Our starting point is that we remain that warm association, but in a new, modern guise: a new logo and a clear story about who we are and what we do. This also includes a new, fresh website that will be launched early next year. So keep an eye on our website!
