June 2022 torrential rains in district Mirpurkhas has adversely been affected as more than 925,880 persons and 185,176 families including displacement of 166,864 women and 124,199 children, the women and children are worst affected of the flood. Like other thousands of villages, our village Deen Muhammad located in Taluka Sindhri has been badly affected by the flood. It’s sixth month but we could not get sufficient humanitarians support yet, in particular with regard to re-building our homes and re-setting of water sources specially hand pups as these have been badly hit as still hand pumps are surrounded by the water and destroyed its chambers too.
We the residents of village Deen Muhammad are very thankful to ARTS Foundation’s team for being first as they paid a visit to our village and meet with flood 2022 affected people. They assessed the community needs and taken photos in order to extend humanitarian support. The team made a commitment to repair the handpump and re-build the chamber of the hand pump as it will help to maintain hygiene around the hand pump. The work will be started in third week of January 2023.
Therefore, we are thankful to the Philanthropist’s for their generous support through donating to ARTS Foundation through GlobalGiving for making possible drinking water in a flood 2022 affected village.
