Help Us Rescue Working Animals in Desperate Need

With your fantastic support through GlobalGiving, Friendicoes – one of Animal Aid Abroad’s partner groups in India – rescued six more working equines recently. Two mares and four donkeys were brought safely to their shelter after either being abandoned or surrendered.

Following the immense fear and neglect they have endured, these animals are now enjoying a peaceful environment, nourishing feed, veterinary treatment and plenty of tender loving care.

Read their stories below:

• A mare was rescued from Gurgaon after being abandoned on the side of a road. She was found in an extremely malnourished state. The Friendicoes’ team rescued the mare and gently took her to their shelter.

• Friendicoes rescued a donkey from a construction site in Greater Noida. She was surrendered by the owner and had multiple wounds on her body. The donkey was safely brought to Friendicoes’ sanctuary.

• Another donkey was rescued by Friendicoes – this time from Okhla railway station. The donkey had an eye injury, which was treated by the team’s vet. He is now living comfortably at the sanctuary.

• Another mare was rescued from Gadoli village. She had been abandoned by the side of a road and was suffering from a joint infection. Now, she is living in comfort at the shelter. 

• A third donkey was rescued from Gurugram after being abandoned. He was severely lame, so was taken to the sanctuary for care and treatment.

• Finally, a donkey was rescued from Garhi village in Gurgaon after being abandoned. He was also experiencing severe lameness, but was rescued and taken to Friendicoes’ shelter.

Due to your kind donations, these animals are now free from pain and suffering and are instead cherished members of Friendicoes’ shelter family.

Never again will they be abandoned or forgotten. With your help, their lives have been transformed and – perhaps for the first time – they are experiencing relief, safety, plentiful food, comfort and special care.
