Due to your generous donations through GlobalGiving, Animal Aid Abroad’s (AAA) mission to Rescue Working Animals in Desperate Need is continuing to be a fantastic success. AAA’s partner group in India, Friendicoes, have rescued five special animals in only two months. Thanks to your compassionate support, these gentle souls have been saved from dire situations and are now experiencing all the love and care they deserve at Friendicoes’ sanctuary. These stories represent just a handful of many animals who have been rescued so far this year by AAA’s various partner groups around the globe.
1. Two ponies were rescued by Friendicoes from Turkman Gate in Delhi. They had been surrendered by their owners as they could no longer afford to feed them. Friendicoes rescued both ponies and took them to their shelter in Gurgaon.
2. Another pony was rescued in Muradabad. It is believed she had been abandoned and left to fend for herself because she could no longer work. Sadly, the pony is permanently disabled due to a frozen foreleg that limits movement. Now safe at Friendicoes’ sanctuary, she is being properly cared for and is eating well.
3. The team also rescued a mare who was suffering from vaginal cancer. The owner surrendered her because they could not afford the regular veterinary treatment required. The mare is now undergoing treatment at the sanctuary.
4. Friendicoes rescued an abandoned mule who was discovered running around a busy road in Gurgaon. He is now living safely at their shelter.
5. Another abandoned animal, this time a pony, was found near a racecourse in Delhi. He was rescued by Friendicoes’ staff and is being well cared for at their Gurgaon sanctuary.
It is because of your kindness and generosity these surrendered and abandoned animals were rescued from a grim fate. With your donations through GlobalGiving, AAA can ensure these equines live out the rest of their days in a peaceful sanctuary. They will now receive nutritious food, safe shelter, veterinary treatment and attentive care from dedicated staff.
The examples above are only a few out of many working animals we are rescuing in conjunction with our partner groups worldwide. Thank you so much again for your compassion for these often-forgotten animals. We would not be able to continue this vital rescue program for working animals without your invaluable support.
