In addition to the regular on-going education interventions in the four government schools in Domlur, Bengaluru city, Sikshana Foundation co-ordinated to organize a special trip for students. In the month of December an educative and entertainment one-day trip for students of these schools was organized. On 29th December, 45 students of Appareddypalya Government Higher Primary School went on a trip to Bangaru Tirupathy, Kotilinga, Kaivara, Seethanjaneya Temple and Kailasagiri. These are places with historical significance in Karnataka and the students enjoyed the trip immensely. On the same day, a 30 member team of students and teachers from the Jogupalya Kannada Primary School also visited the same places.
About 14 students and three teachers from Jogupalya Tamil Primary School visited Innovative Film City in Bidadi, enroute to Mysore. The students had a wonderful time going in and around the mock studios and enacting roles, besides playing a host of games. The students of Jogupalya Urdu School went on a sight seeing trip of Bengaluru visiting places of interest such as Bannerghatta National Park, Vidhana Soudha, Visvesvaraiya Museum, and other tourist attractions of the city. 25 students and 5 teachers participated in this trip.
For these students, it was the first ever trip outside their villages and they enjoyed the exposure of a new place, learning and experiencing new things. The trip proved to be educative, entertaining and helped foster team spirit among the students. The donations received from individual contributors made this trip possible for students who thoroughly enjoyed the day's outing.
