We are grateful for you - our volunteers, our donors, our employees, our students, our adopters, our clients, our partners, and our supporters.

Because of you, spcaLA has been able to investigate animal cruelty; provide disaster response to animals in the Woolsey fire and in the wake of Hurricane Harvey; offer violence-prevention Humane Education programs for youth; provide behavior enrichment, veterinary care, nourishing food, and plenty of TLC to shelter pets - and so much more.

Here are just a few highlights from the past year:

  • 3,878 pets adopted, reunited with their owners, or sent to new families on Air Chihuahua™
  • 12,366 animals protected by spcaLA Humane Officers conducting Animal Cruelty Investigations
  • 46 families and 69 pets helped by the Animal Safety Net (ASN) - the program wherein spcaLA provides safe, temporary shelter for the pets of domestic violence survivors, so they may leave a dangerous situation without fear for their pets' safety.
  • 2,449 youth and adults rekindled empathy and compassion at violence-prevention and other Humane Education offerings
  • 446 staff and volunteers taught by the spcaLA Animal Behavior & Triaing Department on how to maximize shelter dog adoptability
  • 26,277 foster hours were donated by spcaLA volunteers, to help 625 shelter pets
  • 41,549 volunteer hours were donated by 398 spcaLA volunteers

On behalf of everyone at spcaLA, I thank you for your support!
