Project Report | May 13, 2020
Total project funding passes halfway point

By David McMullen | Contact Centre Coordinator

In April the Rural Fire Brigades Association Qld ordered 2 Isuzu 139-260 4x4 trucks - 1 for Burketown Rural Fire Brigade and 1 for Birdsville Rural Fire Brigade.

Each truck will also come with $25,000 of extras on, such as a bullbar and central tow pin, flame retardant air filters, air conditioning in the rear of the cab, reversing cameras, high output alternator and DPD manual regeneration warning alarm trigger kit. Both trucks will be Rural Fire Yellow.

Brisbane Isuzu have been excellent to deal with and we would like to thank Scott and his crew for giving the RFBAQ an amazing price on these trucks. They will arrive in June/July and then go to QuikCorp at Kawana for construction of the backs at $308,000 each.

Carrying 3,000 litres of water and capable of fighting bushfires, grass fires, and building fires; able to carry road crash rescue gear, incident control and support packs and for local aerodrome response, this four-wheel drive fire truck also has a Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS).

The Burketown and Birdsville brigades are providing local design requirements to ensure that the vehicles meet their individual community needs.

Check out the links below where you can watch a video from the Burketown Rural Fire Brigade describing their unique community, and why one of these fire trucks will be of great assistance!
