By Monserrat Chaves | Breaking Barriers
The students’ progress goes far beyond the classroom. They are steadily building essential skills like listening, while gaining confidence through hands-on learning—such as telling time—turning small achievements into meaningful milestones.
By using familiar, everyday objects, English is no longer a distant or abstract subject. Instead, it becomes something they can see, touch, and relate to—making the learning experience more engaging, accessible, and empowering.
Perhaps most inspiring is what comes next. Several school-aged students who joined the program have already taken a bold step toward their future by applying for enrollment at Colegio Técnico Profesional Surí. This decision reflects not only their academic growth, but also a renewed sense of purpose, confidence, and possibility.
With continued support, these young learners are not just acquiring a new language—they are opening doors to brighter opportunities, breaking cycles, and building pathways toward a stronger future for themselves and their communities.
