Dear Donors,
We are pleased to share an update on our Donate Meat to Vulnerable Families in Goma, DRC project. On behalf of our entire team and the vulnerable communities we serve, we sincerely thank every donor who has chosen to stand with families affected by conflict, displacement, and poverty in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Although the project is still in its preparation phase, your generosity has already made meaningful progress possible. Every contribution is helping us prepare for a well-organized and transparent Aid al-Adha meat distribution that will restore hope and dignity to vulnerable families.
Humanitarian Context
For many families in Goma, daily life remains extremely difficult. Years of armed conflict, repeated displacement, economic hardship, and natural disasters have left thousands of households without reliable access to food.
Orphans, widows, older people, persons with disabilities, and chronically ill individuals are among the most affected. For many of these families, receiving meat during Aid al-Adha is more than a meal—it is a sign that they have not been forgotten.
Through this project, we aim to reach more than 1,000 vulnerable families, strengthening solidarity while helping reduce food insecurity during one of the most important religious celebrations of the year.
Project Goal
Our goal is to raise US$50,000 to purchase and distribute quality meat to vulnerable Muslim families throughout Goma during Aid al-Adha.
Beyond providing nutritious food, the project seeks to promote compassion, social cohesion, dignity, and hope among communities facing prolonged humanitarian hardship.
Progress to Date
Thanks to the generosity of supporters from around the world, the campaign has already raised US$154.
While this represents only the beginning of our fundraising journey, these first donations have enabled our team to launch essential preparatory activities.
Using these initial funds, we successfully carried out field assessments and community identification activities to determine the areas where vulnerable families are most in need of assistance. These assessments are essential for ensuring that future distributions are transparent, fair, and reach those who need support the most.
This important first step demonstrates that every donation—regardless of its size—creates real progress.
Use of Funds
The first donations received have been used to support initial project preparation, including:
As additional funding is received, resources will primarily be allocated to purchasing livestock, organizing distribution, transportation, and ensuring safe delivery to vulnerable families.
Expected Impact
Once fully funded, the project will:
The impact of this project extends beyond one day of distribution. It reminds vulnerable families that they are valued, supported, and remembered by people around the world.
Looking Ahead
Our fundraising campaign continues.
With the continued support of generous donors and our valued partnership with GlobalGiving, we remain confident that we can achieve our fundraising goal of US$50,000 and successfully implement this life-changing initiative.
Over the coming months, we will continue beneficiary verification, strengthen local coordination, prepare procurement plans, and finalize all logistical arrangements to ensure an efficient and accountable implementation.
Every new donation brings us one step closer to providing thousands of people with a dignified Aid al-Adha celebration.
Thank You
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every donor who has already contributed to this campaign.
Your kindness is already creating hope for families who have endured years of hardship.
We also express our sincere appreciation to GlobalGiving for providing a trusted international platform that connects compassionate people around the world with communities in need. This partnership strengthens our ability to reach more families and brings us closer to achieving our shared humanitarian mission.
