Victory Foundation Programme's plan to provide 3000 hampers to households of Mathare Slums, Mihango and Kibera slums in Kenya for 2023 containing nutritious food and clothing to increase retention, completion, free the children from hunger, improve their health and nutritional needs, to improve attention and concentration levels to improve academic performance. This is through provision of quality education and free feeding to the children admitted, empowering them for sustainable livelihood.
"Feed a child to keep him in School program" is based on the Oxfam 2022 report that hunger claims a life every 36 seconds and is the hindrance to student enrollment, retention and completion of both primary and secondary school leading to absenteeism, low admission, poor completion rate and academic performance for learners who soldier on. The project will create access to education for more than 3000 needy children, alleviate severe hunger, malnutrition and improve their health condition.
Our Feed a child to keep him in School program aims to create access to primary and secondary education for these very needy children, alleviate severe hunger and malnutrition, improve their health condition and give quality education which is key to ending the vicious cycle of poverty. The most improved student and top students will be offered full scholarships to university.
The project will help provide nutritious meals for the learners at the school, improve school attendance and quality of education, educational performance, the health of the learners and will enhance the learning environment which will lead to increased learning motivation, improved school attendance and retention hence high completion rate of learners. It will also increase enrollment of orphans and vulnerable children into the program which is key to ending the vicious cycle of poverty
