The Texas Diaper Bank continues in its effort to support individuals affected by Hurricane Harvey.
This year, TXDB has distributed over 990,000 diapers, as of 4/26/18. Of the many events TXDB continues to host, the organization has engaged the affected communities twice this year.
At the end of March, TXDB teamed up with Huggies, Walgreens, National Diaper Bank Network, and Bread of Life to host a distribution event in Houston, TX for Hurricane Harvey victims. During this event focused on addressing diaper awareness, the organizations served over 335 families onsite with over 250,000 diapers.
At the end of April, TXDB collaborated with Martina McBride's charity Team Music is Love, OneGenAway, Feed America First, and Northend Baptist Church to distribute diapers in Beaumont, TX. At this event, TXDB distributed 180,000 diapers, 825 hygiene kits, shampoo, towels, and hairbrushes to 2,200 individuals.
It is so wonderful to see so many organizations still unite for a focused cause that many quickly forget about: diapers. However, these events reconfirm that the aftermath of the disaster still affects Texan families. There is still much work to be done, and the Texas Diaper Bank will be there to do it!
