The community of Phalaborwa, Limpopo province, South Africa was devastated by severe floods in January 2026. The floods destroyed roads, bridges, tourism facilities and community shelters. Homes and belongings were swept away by the floods. Some of the learners had to attend school wearing casual donation clothes and walking barefoot.
HOPE Africa partnered with the Parish of St Luke to provide learners with school shoes. The donations were allocated as follows:
Maphokwane high school = 12 pairs
Lepato high school = 22 pairs
Refentse primary school = 16 pairs
The school shoes have made a meaningful contribution to supporting their education and well-being. Your generosity has helped ensure that many learners can attend school with dignity and confidence.
