Your donations have made an amazing difference, thank you so much as your generosity has been put to good use. On November 24th, 11 volunteers went to Greece to assist with the refugee crisis; they took with them lifesaving medical supplies, along with blankets, solar lights, etc. These volunteers consisted of EMT's, lifeguards, and volunteers wanting to help. Each volunteer assisted where they were needed most from working with the doctor, helping on the beach with rescue, or up at the camp on the hill where the refugees are taken to shelter, food, dry clothes, and more medical care.
Volunteers returned around December 4th, but within a week, a couple volunteers, Paris and Bob, had returned, Paris brought with him colored vest to help the refugees identify the volunteers in the areas of need, like medical, food distribution, clothing, etc. Bob returned with the help of our EEC partner to aid in rough water rescue. Both volunteers were requested to return.
More volunteers are returning to assist with this crisis, as they seem to have left their hearts their with the people in desperate need of assistance.
We were told that Do Your Part was the first registered organization from the United States to have volunteers assist in Greece with the refugees. This humanitarian effort we did in conjunctions with our friends from East End Cares, a group of caring volunteers assisting in the crisis and bringing with them a lot of assets. We are proud to be a part of that effort.
We are happy to say that our volunteer at Camp Moria is working with the U.N. to coordinate the volunteers. There are now a few more organizations involved in Greece, hopefully this will help.
We continue to need your help, in order to help those in need, please pass the word. Once again thank you for your generosity and compassion.
