The need for dignitary packs has increased as the cost of living has drastically increased in the country. Fuel prices have increased two times since the year began and that in turn increases the prices of items in store. We are in the middle of social and political uprising with a fifth wave being projected for April 2022. Times are hard and the school calendar has shifted many times.
The new school year will begin on the 5th of April 2022, which means that we can only resume our distribution of the packs in school during the second week of April. We will be doing the shopping to replenish supplies on the 24th of March 2022. In the interim, we have been distributing to our Psychosocial support cases. These are usually child neglect, sexual and physical abuse cases in the community. There is always a child caught in the middle and not being provided for. There are 12 children currently being supplied with dignitary packs on a monthly basis.
The next distribution will be done in the 4 Primary School and 4 High School that we partner with. The neediest children are identified by the guidance teachers who work in collaboration with our PSS department.
