This is a mid-term report of the project "Dignity & Post-Maternity KIts for IDPWomen in DRC". This project consists of providing dignity kits to 1500 women and girls and also providing post-maternity to 1000 pregnant women and girls. All the beneficiaries of this project are women and girls who are directly affected by the recent wars in the Democratic Republic of Congo. All of them are currently living in the internally displaced person's site in Goma. As you know, many people especially in North Kivu province were forced to leave their homes, their fields and businesses because of the war between the government forces (FARDC) and the M23 rebels in many areas such as Rutshuru, Nyiragongo, Masisi and Lubero.
People fled and left everything behind. They've been suffering in the temporary sites in Goma and around Goma. Unfortunately women and girls are the ones paying the high price of this war. In their current homes, they miss everything and their hygienic and menstrual conditions are a big problem. It is the same for prenant women and girls who also face challenges while being pregnant and when giving birth.
To bring support to these women and girls, it was necessary for Blessed Aid to conceive this project and then call upon the generosity of different donaors from various levels to support us with donations. So more than six months ago, we have been raising funds from your, as our Donors, so as to buy and provide free of charge dignity kits to 1,500 women and girls but also prividing free of charge 1,000 maternity kits to women and girls currently living in different internally displaced person's camps in Goma and around Goma.
Our organization, Blessed Aid, has many focal points in the IDPs' camps like in REGO, Lwashi, 8ème CEPAC, Lushagala, Buhimba, Bulengo, etc.
Please, you $10, $15, $20, $50 donated will significaly change change life and save life of more than one internally displaced women and girls in Goma.
