Thank you to all of our sustaining donors & those who have just found our campaign — we are thrilled to have you all on board. Here’s a general overview of where we stand with Digitizing Cultural Heritage & Historic Sites in Venezuela as of September 2019.
Our work on the San Rafael de Mucuchíes Chapel, built by Juan Félix Sánchez from 1980 - 1984, is still underway. Our team of photographers is due to revisit the chapel now that the rainy season is over sometime in the next coming months. Once we receive their photos, we will add them to our existing model in order to clean up and enhance any spaces that might not have gotten the best coverage on our first visit.
We have also made many more models out of the images sent to us from volunteer photographers at the Quinta de Anauco Colonial Art Museum and the Palacio de las Academias in Caracas. Images and descriptions are attached below.
Additionally, we’ve begun phase 2 of our work at the University City in Caracas. Here, one of our volunteer photographers instructs current students at the university on the techniques behind photogrammetry and the benefits of digital cultural preservation. See some of the models attached in our images!
If you would like to see more models and images from our work in Venezuela, please visit our collections page (link below).
Again, thank you so much to all our supporters & donors — we couldn’t do it without you!
