Dear Digital Literacy Supporters
Thank you for your support and contributions.
Digital Literacy project works to provide computer education to underprivileged and marginalized children and youth in Jaipur and empower them to pursue: education, empowerment and employment.
The aim of the project is to provide 20 new computers to Academy for Working Children (AWC) Malviya Nagar and AWC Jagatpura, Jaipur and replace old and faulty computers so as to continue computer based learning for children and youth.
As the new academic year is about to begin from 1st April, we seek your enthusiastic support in enabling these 20 computers so the new year can begin on an academic and digital high. This will motivate and encourage the marginalized children and youth to learn and perform better.
The project hopes to provide children from underprivileged background an opportunity to experience and benefit from the technologies available. The manifold long term impacts are: Better learning experience for students, resulting in better performance, gaining computer education, better job prospects and employment based on skills learnt at the centre. This will provide youth with wider learning prospects, and have them learn how to use Microsoft Office software which is important for continuing education such as college and employment skills. The center also offers Internet access, training and resources to create digitally savvy, confident young individuals who have access to quality education and better job opportunities.
Through our offline campaign we have received encouragement and 2 new computers have been pledged by a patron. We need your continued support in making this digital dream come true by providing the remaining 18 computers for many under-served children.
