We at Rego Foundation would like to thank all our Donors and the GlobalGiving Team for believing in our dream and empowering us both financially and socially to make a difference in the lives of several girls living in slums around Kampala. This year, classes resumed on 13th January, 2020.
We moved our classes to The Innovation Village, Kampala where Rego Foundation offices are currently located. We have created impactful relationships and brought onboard two tech companies to better design our curriculum.
Joel Mwanja; Founder and CEO of A23 Labs (https://www.a23labs.com/), a Software Development Company in Uganda, creating digital solutions for social problems; has joined us as the Project Manager and volunteer tutor.
We have also partnered with Mentors Without Borders (https://www.mentorswithoutborders.net/ ); a group Software Engineering Professional with an objective to help underprivileged young people become passionate developers.
Our Mentor, Mr.Parth Pandy (LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/parth-p-859bb29a/)is a software scientist with extensive experience in software development.
We are currently learning how to develop a website using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language).
Given that most of the students want to build mobile apps to solve their social problems at the end of the course, we shall be learning the following languages to build mobile apps;
We acquired one new laptop computer and welcomed Matilda to join the class making it five (5) girls in total.
We look forward to welcoming more girls into the Programme and creating more partnerships. This year, we intend to participate in the Africa Code Week with atleast 15 girls.
Thank you for your support.
