Keep Active

By Esther Sampson | External Relations Manager

Thank you for your support of our Keep Active Program in this quarter. Keep Active teaches early adolescents valuable life skills, critical issues information and encourages an active lifestyle. We have partnered with 59 primary schools this year and have positively impacted 9036 participants’ lives. Our Keep Active sessions are fun and interactive and provide our participants with a safe and supportive space. We focus on teaching sexual health, gender awareness and general life skills alongside sports activities in football (soccer), netball, hockey, rugby, cricket, basketball and tennis. These topics are important to ensure that our participants are equipped with the knowledge and self-confidence to navigate early adolescence and reach their full potential.

In the past 12 months we have had the following impact with our keep active program:

  • 9036 Participants Reached
  • 52% Female Participants Reached
  • 84% Improved School Attendance
  • 86% Improved Self Confidence
  • 12 Jobs Created

"The Keep Active Program has brought a new energy to our community.  Without these programs our children would not have access to critical issues education and physical activity in a safe controlled environment.  The impact on the children and our school has been amazing." - Ludwe Memese, School Principal, Zwide Township, Nelson Mandela Bay
