Dear supporters and donors,
we are happy to write you some exciting updates about Great country project.
First of all, we are slowly finishing all the development on our website. The latests and the most expected feature that was finished is ist english version. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, students of languages, we are trying to feed our english version of website so that englisgh speakers have a good overview of recent acitivites. Please check it out yourself and please let us know all your feedback and tips for improvements: https://www.dobrakrajina.sk/en/.
In May we organized Restaurant Day, international festival of street food. We helped 13 project, 13 NGOs to organize their 1-day pop-up restaurants, invite people and welcome them in their work places. Hundreds of guests met with interesting people and had a chance to get to know their work better. According to the World Charity Index 2014 Slovakia is still far behind other central european countries when it comes to the pro-social behaviour. We try to sensitize people by creating the opportunities for being moved or inspired to engage in giving, helping, volunteering. Restaurant Day was such an opportunity and we were able to organize it in thanks to your support. THANK YOU!
Another exciting news is Mari Kuraishi herself. Cofounder fo GlobalGiving will come to Slovakia in late October this year and she will have a inspiring presentation for our NGOs about crowdfunding. We are very very excited and we hope to inspire small organizations we are working with to embrace the power of crowd (enjoy Mari talking about it here).
And, yes, we are in a pre-campaign rush. 24-hours giving marathon is in less then 2 months. If you can, please support us, we are trying to collect matching funds for participating NGOs.
Best,
Sandra and Anka from Great country
