The last Saturday of September, we packed up our things and drove to Trencín. In the cosy premises of Trencín castle, the TEDxTrencín conference took place for the fifth time. The attendees enjoyed listening to twelve inspirational speakers talking about CYCLE, which was this year's topic.
During the breaks between talks, we were there to make sure the attendees would not get bored. And we dare to say they did not. We promoted the NGOs of Great Country and presented to everyone, how the cycle of positive change works in Great Country. Let's take DORKA Center in Košice for an example. Mothers in need come to this Center when time allows and they sew original bags out of used banners. Not only do they give new life to used materials, but they earn money to start a new life themselves. But there is more. Multiple organizations of Great Country give support to their mentally or physically disadvantaged clients. As a part of therapy provided by the organization, these people make beautiful handcrafted treasures - ceramics, tote bags, or even jewerly. They socialize and foster their skills as well. Thanks to these organizations, people who are a little different are no longer marginalized at the edge of society. To support the cycle of positive change, we run an e-shop called "Good shop" through which we sell and promote all the good stuff made by the talented and special people. Money earned from sales helps them live a more independent life. And the cycle of positive change continues.
Our project Great Country contributes to the cycle of positive change by supporting the whole range of organisations who in turn help those who need it the most. The fuel is YOU - our donors and supporters. Without you it would be impossible for these organization to continue in their amazing (but hard) mission. Thank you :-)
