This is how you helped in 2017

By Marek Chalany | Project Coordinator

This is how you helped.
This is how you helped.

Each of you broke records in 2017. You have lowered the record of donors, donors, and the amount of money you donated to yourself in Tvrdák, tasting good deeds, running a donating marathon with us, looking for good things and revealing another side of the nonprofit sector. Thanks to you, Good Country grew and grew non-profit-making, which changed Slovakia to a better, more educated, more receptive and transparent country.

Recorded 2444 donors donated 149 065.38 euros. For each of the 60 organizations at DobraKrajina.sk this is an influx of new energy. You have made it clear to them that the work they are doing is worth it and is extremely important. Each gift moves them forward and gives them the courage to face new challenges. Do not forget how important it is! Each of you is a hero.

The most important thing was to help people who are at a disadvantage. Far from it, however, there was no education either. Many of you are regular donors. Your donations have doubled this year thanks to the partnership with the ESET Foundation. But it was not the only match we had in the Good Country last year. NaturaMed has doubled donations to the Memory Center, which is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

That's how your donations helped - for more educated Slovakia

Critical thinking is one of the ways for a sentient and open society. The Academy of Critical Knowledge (EDUMA) was attended by 65 participants. Generation 3.0 has been collecting, evaluating and helping to spread the best and most innovative approaches to education in Slovakia for a year. The February Challenge invites 53 inspiring projects for students, teachers, parents and nonprofits. The live libraries of Amnesty International have been able to organize you all over Slovakia. Together, the prejudices of more than 150 people. Over 5 years of its existence, over 60,000 young people have helped over their online psychological counseling for young people. At 5 community centers, People at Risk each day provide tutoring and tutoring to children and young people from excluded sites.

For more sensible Slovakia

Simon of Ethiopia paid urgent dental care and a course of English. Khandra from Somalia received her winter clothing and art ring for her son. This has also helped many others in the League for Human Rights. Life without dependencies, n.o. works with addictive youth. He helped manage life in challenging environments through extracurricular clubs and prevention programs. Up to 2200 Primary and Secondary School students attended The Dark Trip. Even thanks to your donations, she received a green dance-motion therapy for the health-disadvantaged young people in Claudia. In Slovakia, a unique book "We Have a Child with Hearing Impairment" was published to help parents get the necessary information and help in time. Goats and piglets have made joy in other Orava families and have moved them one step closer to self-sufficiency thanks to you and the OZ Youth Mission. Ulits have developed a new original brand Kopcany.

For more transparent Slovakia

In 2017, Demagog.sk verified 1001 statements by politicians. In addition, they also trained secondary school teachers and teachers to discover misinformation. The Fair-play Alliance revealed the real reasons for the high revenues of healthcare companies and the high prices of medical supplies. ZOMOS has educated active citizens on civil rights so that our municipalities and cities are managed efficiently and professionally.

Full experience

The year 2017 was also full of experience. We have run for the Best of the Best. During the Restaurant Day we were tasting good deeds. In August 24 hours you donated over 8,000 euros in one day. At #GivingTuesday, you have proven that good people are in Good Country.

For all of this we take all our hearts and wish everything good for the new year!
