We have made two drought emergency food deliveries of staple foods to the Zambezi Farm community; to 14 families in May, and to 33 families in June. The July delivery will increase to cover 40 families.
The farm is faring better than many other small farms in Zambia, as water from the irrigation systems your generous donations funded allows the women to grow vegetables for their own consumption and a bit for sale, despite the lack of rain.
In our May report we explained how we plan to use funds this year, for:
We would like to take full advantage of GlobalGiving’s lucrative matching offers on July Bonus Day this coming Wednesday, 7/10/24. Donations received will go first to cover the drought emergency food delivery for August. Depending on how much we raise, we hope to also be able to provide school fees for some students, and help cover the salary of the physical therapist and art teacher we hired for the Mama Bakhita.
Your donations, large and small, recent and past, have made it possible for this community to survive the current drought crisis. Thank you!
