Portland's recent report on the latest "One-Day Count of Homeless" shows the homeless population in our city continues to grow... up an estimated 7-9% again this year (more than 30% in the past three years combined).
The distressed economy not only increases demand for services, but many of our faithful donors are unable to give as frequently or generously as usual. And food donors (e.g. grocers) have tightened their belts to reduce "waste," which means we have to purchase more food in order to continue to provide nutritious meals to all our guests... FREE breakfast and dinner, 7 days/week, year-round.
We're blessed to be able to continue to meet the rising demand without cutting staff or programs during this difficult time. Thanks so much for your thoughtful support.
