IDEX has started to receive more details from our partners in Bangladesh. The situation in Bangladesh is still dire with many people needing urgent assistance.
Most recently we heard from Mirza Shahadat Hossain, Executive Director of SATU. Mirza Shahadat writes:
"Thousands of young children and families are struggling to survive. Every household has someone who is ill. There is no food in most of the houses.
SATU is providing emergency relief in Goshairhat Upazila in Sariatpur District among the 2000 cyclone affected people who have lost their family members, crops, vegetables and have no jobs, and rehabilitation program for 1500 people in Nagarpur Upazila in Tangail District who have lost their cultivated seasonal crops. Funds are needed immediately for food, water, and shelter for survival and rehabilitation for recovering their losses."
Please support the disaster relief work, and ensure that emergency supplies of food reach the families and children, who need it, most.
