Tharuni organised “Tharuni Swecha – Cycle to School” distribution programme in "Child Rights Weak" for girls at LB Collage, Warangal and M.P.U.P School, Jinnuru Palem, Poduru Mandal of West Godavari Districts respectively. The programme was solely meant for the distribution of bicycles to girls and encourage them to pursue secondary education. On this day, 40 bicycles were distributed to girls from Paduru, Geesugonda and Duggondi Mandals, Warangal Rural and West Godavari Districts.
Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer, Founder, Tharuni explained the need for secondary education to prevent the evils plaguing the lives of the girl child.
20 Cycles distributed in LB Collage, Warangal and remaining 20 Cycles in M.P.U.P School, Jinnuru Palem, Poduru Mandal of West Godavari District.
The programme was successful in striking the right chord with an audience of over 100 students and village locals to promote secondary education for the girl child and prevent child marriages.
