WHS is proud to share the success of our summer youth empowerment project! We hosted two interactive sexual health workshops for youth ages 12–15 in Redding and Chico, California. What made this initiative so impactful was its peer-led approach, local teens played a central role in promoting the program, recruiting participants, preparing materials, and co-designing the workshop content.
Our youth-empowered spaces foster fun, creativity, and movement centered on pride and joy. In this peer-supported environment, participants honored each other’s wisdom, shared lived experiences, and built lasting connections. Through engaging and destigmatizing activities, 30 young people gained vital knowledge and leadership skills to spark positive change in their lives and communities for generations to come.
