Dear Friends of Technology Partnership,
Our most recent dance exchange took place in October and was a powerful experience for me. I had just joined TP as the new Executive Director and being able to see the students in Denver wake up at the crack of dawn, get on a bus and dance with their friends across the world, told me that I was a part of something important.
Let me introduce you to one of our dance exchange students, Mukiri an eleven year old girl who attends Kaaga Primary in Meru, Kenya. Instead of telling you my perspective, I'll let Muukiri use her voice to tell you:
"I like the dance exchange so much. I have learned a lot from the activity. I now know what language Americans speak and what kind of clothes they wear. I even saw some of their musical instruments during the dance exchange. But I think the biggest lesson I have learned is that we are actually not different although we are from different countries. I would like to learn English from the American students and in return I teach them Swahili."
Technology serves its greatest purpose when it brings people together and ignites minds. Thank you for helping Mukiri find her inspiration to learn! Since gaining access to computers in her school, Mukiri has been able to improve her grades, especially her Maths, from 40% to 60% and Social Science from 60% to 80%. Well done, Mukiri!
We look forward to your continued support as we begin to expand this program.
Warm Regards,
Diedre Paterno Pai
