Farewell JH! Hello WZX!

By Sonya Yencer | Vice President, The Red Thread Promise

Infant JH (pre-surgical)
Infant JH (pre-surgical)

You've watched JH grow over the past 18 months, from tiny baby with Tethered Spinal Cord Syndrome to a thriving post-surgical toddler in China's Henan Province. JH's progress was fueled by your love and financial suppor through this program. For that we are most grateful!

While we bid farewell to JH and wish him the best in his new family, we'd like you to meet WZX. This little guy laughs a lot but is a bit camera shy, saving his smiles for those bearing snacks of milk and rice flour, sweet cake and bananas!

WZX came to Swallows Nest unable to sit or stand due to club feet. After extensive evaluation, doctors decided to treat him with a non-surgical method that involves serial manipulation and casting, taping, physical therapy, splinting, and continuous passive motion*.

As of this report, he is in Beijing beginning the casting process. We are hopeful for a positive outcome for this little guy and will keep you updated on his progress. As always, we ask for your countinued support of his treatment and care until he is matched with his forever family.
