Summary

We will be hosting a Heritage Month Art Exhibition on 26 September 2025 to showcase beadwork and crochet made by 50 persons with disabilities in Ekurhuleni. This event will promote inclusion, income generation, and cultural pride. We seek donations to cover venue hire, transport, catering, equipment, and marketing. Your support will help us create a dignified, accessible event where participants will display their talents and celebrate their heritage.

Challenge

Persons with disabilities in South Africa face exclusion from economic opportunities due to limited access to skills training, mobility, and public visibility. Without support, their creative talents remain untapped, and their products unseen. The Heritage Month Art Exhibition addresses this by providing a platform to showcase their work, promote inclusion, and generate income-empowering them with dignity and recognition in their communities.

Solution

We will solve the problem by providing inclusive creative skills training in beadwork and crochet at disability centres. We will host a Heritage Month Art Exhibition to showcase our participants' work, raise awareness, and create income opportunities. Our project will uplift 50 persons with disabilities, promote dignity, and shift public perceptions by celebrating their talent and contributions to culture and community development.

Long-Term Impact

It will be a lasting shift in the economic and social inclusion of persons with disabilities in South Africa. By equipping them with valuable creative skills, we will enable them to generate sustainable income, build self-confidence, and access greater opportunities. The project will also foster wider community acceptance, change public attitudes towards disability, and inspire future initiatives that prioritize accessibility and empowerment for marginalized group
