On Monday, March 20, 2017, Students Creative Minds International Academy and Project Happiness organized a special event to mark the 2017 International Day of Happiness. The Event, which started in the early hours of 8am, in the Assembly Ground of Creative Minds International Academy, brought together, students, parents and members of the public. The event began with the students reciting the Nigeria National Anthem, after which some students took turns to define what Happiness means to them. For some, Happiness is a moment of celebrating with friends. For others, it means making others happy, while others said happiness is being successful, etc.
Other activities to mark the 2017 International Day of Happiness included Dancing Competition by the various cultural groups in the school, namely- Igbo, Berom, Tiv, Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Idome, etc, and presentation of gifts to the winners. Other side attractions included eating competition, beauty pageant, culminating in a awareness campaign on the streets within the Dadin Kowa neighbourhood. The students, carrying banners and placards, sang and danced along the busy FDA Road to Angwan Baki, before returning to School. A lot of people within the neighbourhood joined in the dancing and celebration.
