The work on protecting children from bullying and abuse slowed through the Christmas New Year period as families were busy with these activities. It gave the Virtues Project team time to reflect on what had been accomplished and what would be helpful to Fiji in 2017.
There are a number of new ventriloquists and puppeteers ready to work with the project in 2017. Many schools and communities are still waiting for materials to repair the damage done in the cyclone last year but they are still calling for training from the Virtues Project Fiji team to assist with the emotional recovery to find peacefulnbess and orderliness in the chaos that was created by the storm and floods which affected them in December 2016.
The five strategies of The Virtues Prpject are hard to explain, so it has been decided that the Virtues Project Fiji will use the title "Peacemakers' Tools" and this has already attracted a lot of interest. It has been recognised by government and the many Community Service Organisations in Fiji that bullying, abuse, rape and abuse of women and children in Fiji in particular have to be addressed.
We look forward to your continued support as we tackle these issues in Fiji in partnership with other agencies and local support.
