Update: Supporting Alina and Vlad in Ukraine

By Natalie Blinder | Founder

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Bright Kids Charity, Ukraine.

We would like to share an update on how your generous donation has helped a mother of a child with disabilities in Ukraine.

Recently, we supported Alina K. by providing professional manicure supplies worth USD 305 to help her continue earning an income through her small nail care business. Your support is making a real difference to this family during an incredibly difficult time.

After receiving the supplies, Alina shared the following message with us:

"Thank you very much! In these difficult times, it means so much to know that people are willing to help. I will always be grateful to you and your foundation.

I truly love my work—it is a great source of support and strength for me.

I am infinitely grateful to you. When I unpacked the package, I was happy like a child.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

The family's situation remains heartbreaking, yet Alina is an inspiring example of resilience and determination. We continue to support both her small business and her son Vlad's ongoing medical needs whenever possible.

You may remember their story from our previous reports. About ten years ago, the family was involved in a devastating car accident in which Vlad suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. He spent five months in a coma and was left permanently disabled. Since then, the family has endured years of treatments, surgeries, and rehabilitation in the hope of improving his condition.

Then came the war.

Forced to flee intense shelling in eastern Ukraine, the family left their home with only the essentials and sought safety in another region of the country. Their hometown has been largely destroyed, and their house was damaged during the fighting. Like so many displaced families, they lost nearly everything.

Today, Alina works tirelessly to rebuild their lives while caring for Vlad and covering the costs of his ongoing treatment. Her manicure business provides a vital source of income that helps the family survive and maintain hope for the future.

Recently, members of our team had the opportunity to visit the family in person. Despite the many challenges they face, their strength and perseverance continue to inspire us.

We are deeply grateful for your support. Because of your generosity, mothers like Alina can continue providing for their children during these dark and uncertain times.

Please consider continuing your support for Alina and Vlad. Your donation helps families affected by disability, displacement, and war rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

With heartfelt thanks,

The Bright Kids Charity Team
