Building Orphans A New House!
![Site clearing]()
Site clearing
Aparis Community Development Program (Aparis CDP) is actively working to address the shelter and safety needs of orphaned and street children in Aparis Village, Uganda. The grassroots organization focuses on transitioning vulnerable youth out of poverty by providing holistic care, education, and basic necessities.
Current Construction Status
Ongoing efforts focus on building a permanent, secure orphans home to shelter vulnerable children who are currently facing neglect, abuse, or homelessness.
Completed Phases:
Site clearing and foundational development.
Current Challenges:
Construction on the home is currently unfinished due to limited resources, forcing some children to remain in overcrowded, temporary, or inadequate housing.
Projected Needs:
The holistic orphanage plan includes designated sleeping quarters, sanitary washrooms, a kitchen, a study area, and a safe play space.
Funding & Supply Breakdown
The project relies on public donations and grassroots support to acquire building materials. The construction operates on a tiered requirement scale:
Foundation Work:
Roughly $10 per month goes directly toward foundation work and basic supplies.
Bricks & Blocks: $50 monthly covers one full truckload of building blocks.
Roofing: $100 per month buys approximately 12 iron sheets, while $250 covers roofing timber.
Finishing: Roughly $400 is dedicated to internal/external structural finishing, secure doors, and windows.
How to Support
Public support and international volunteers are highly encouraged to help complete the housing and expand the community's infrastructure. You can monitor the progress, read updates, or make direct contributions to help build a home for the children on the GlobalGiving Aparis CDP Project page.
