Create a Child Labor Monitoring Network in 5 LGAs.

The Child Labor Monitoring Network project is currently progressing toward its goal of establishing a coordinated child protection system across five Local Government Areas (LGAs). The project has a total fundraising target of $16,333, with $16,333 currently remaining, indicating that the project is still at the early fundraising stage. To date, the project has received support from 1 donor, with 0 monthly donors registered.

Financial support is therefore the immediate priority, as adequate funding is required to train 50 community volunteers, establish the mobile reporting system, conduct community awareness activities, coordinate field monitoring, and provide timely support for children identified in hazardous labor situations. The planned eight-month implementation period will depend significantly on securing the remaining funds.

Once sufficient funding is available, trained monitors will work across mining sites, markets, and other child-labor hotspots to identify cases, report exploitation, and connect affected children and families with appropriate support. The project will also strengthen collaboration with government and community stakeholders to facilitate withdrawal from hazardous work and reintegration into education or safe vocational training.

With continued donor support, this initiative can establish a sustainable community-based monitoring network capable of protecting hundreds of vulnerable children and providing a model that can eventually be expanded to additional LGAs.
