World Action Fund is raising $15,000 to repair over 500 wheelchairs across five districts in Uganda. At $50 per repair, your donation will restore mobility, dignity, and independence for children, students, adults, and refugees with disabilities. Repairing existing wheelchairs helps people return to school, sporting activities and livelihoods while preventing discarded devices from ending up in landfills and harming the environment. Together, we can restore mobility and protect our planet
Over 500 broken wheelchairs in Uganda's West Nile region have left children, mothers, and refugees crawling on the ground, dropping out of school, and losing livelihoods. Families cannot afford repairs, and abandoned chairs worsen disability challenges and pollute the environment. A simple $50 repair can restore mobility, dignity, education, and even access to sports like wheelchair basketball.
This project will repair over 500 broken wheelchairs across Uganda's West Nile region, restoring mobility, dignity, and independence. Local technicians will be trained and equipped to provide sustainable repairs, while refurbished chairs will return children to school, mothers to business, refugees to safety, and youth to sports like wheelchair basketball. In 2023 We repaired 120 wheechairs at 5,000 with your support.
By repairing 500+ wheelchairs and training local technicians, this project will create lasting independence for children, mothers, and refugees in Uganda. Longterm, communities gain mobility, dignity, and opportunity with more children staying in school, families sustaining livelihoods, and youth participating in sports. Sustainable repair skills ensure ongoing support, reducing poverty and isolation for thousands.
