"My name is Lavanya, and I live in Mylapore, Chennai. My father doesn’t work because he suffers from asthma and TB. My mother was working as a housekeeper. Things were going ok.
Suddenly, my mother got paralyzed - now she can’t walk or do any kind of work. In that situation I had to go to work, pay off our loans, but I also wanted to study."
With Bhumi Scholarship, Lavanya is now completing her Post Graduation. She is pursuing Business Administration with specialisation in Human Resources. She chose Human Resources because she wants to enable people in difficult circumstances to achieve their dreams.
The effects of poverty are wide-reaching and create lasting struggles. It remains one of the biggest barriers to children living in poor communities. Education plays a very important role in transforming the lives of these children. Bhumi's Scholarship program ensures that they are not left behind just because of the circumstances they are born into.
With your generous donations, Bhumi continues to make a difference and impact lives like Lavanya in chasing their dreams.
