"Bhumi’s Scholarships Programme- A much-needed relief for children from COVID-affected
families"
Saniya, a 1st-year undergraduate student, lost her father to Covid. Her brother is unable to find a job
due to a lack of opportunities in a COVID-affected economy. Her mother does not work. This leaves
their family with no source of income and they are unable to cope up with even their day-to-day
needs.
Amidst all these uncertainties Saniya was required to pay an additional fee of ~USD 50 to fulfill the
fee requirements of her college. When she reached out to Bhumi, we were able to support her. This
allowed her to continue her graduation smoothly.
Now imagine a meager sum of ~USD 50 could have become a barrier for Saniya’s education.
Your timely donation changed Saniya’s situation and now she will be able to continue her graduation
and pursue a competitive career.
As of September 30, Bhumi’s Scholarship Program has supported 87 additional students whose
education was affected due to COVID-19. The Program provides financial assistance to children from
low-income backgrounds to continue their education. During the pandemic this has been extended
to COVID affected families too.
