Covid-19 emergency has increased the gap between children from well-off families and most vulnerable children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Covid-19 emergency has increased the gap between children from well-off
families and most vulnerable children from disadvantaged backgrounds. During the first phase of the emergency and thanks to the support of our donors, we provided 526 digital devices to families with fewer financial opportunities and with limited IT equipment.
We provided training courses and webinars for early childhood educators aimed at the creation of a new ‘multitasking educator’, able to use not only traditional educational approaches but also new digital instruments and digital communication as a pedagogically efficient tool; able to find innovative interaction modalities with children in accordance with the new health regulations, without affecting their need for physical relationship; able to transfer to families not only parenting skills but also educational competences, to enable them to take care of their children education, as long as new rules will not allow daily access to early childhood services, changing the role of the parents.
In addition to this activities we will offer opportunities for listening and psychological support to face the alienation and sense of loneliness experienced during isolation, preventing depressive forms and facilitating the reworking of the negative experience lived.
