By Kate McLetchie | Project Leader
Greetings from Tanzania's Eastern Arc rainforest! We are writing with a quick update to let you know that your dollars are being put straight to work to conserve this precious forest. This project continues to support our field partner the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG) in their efforts to keep these forests standing for the thousands of people who rely on them for their livelihoods and for the millions of animals who call them home. Current efforts are focused on the ongoing REDD project and a new five-year sustainable charcoal project aimed at promoting more sustainable charcoal production from community managed woodlots. TFCG's most recent The Arc Journal asks the question: "Do Tanzania's Eastern Arc Mountains have more species of amphibian than anywhere else in the world?" Click here to find out the answer for yourself and read more about what is going on in the field.
Please consider making an end of year gift to help continue to support this project in the coming year or give a gift in the name of a loved one this holiday season by simply clicking on the "Gift or in-honor of" tab. You'll have the option to email, print, or mail a lovely acknowledgment card to the lucky recipient.
From all of us at ARC, thank you for your support and warm wishes this holiday and for a very happy new year!
