Thank you for so generously donating to this project to conserve Tanzania's rainforest. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support we have received and are grateful for this opportunity to partner with GlobalGiving to mobilize a network of people who so passionately care about the future of Tanzania's forests and the people who call them home.
Our current activities are focused on environmental education (currently in 200 schools), tree planting (approaching our 11 million mark), and livelihood activities that shift dependance from forest resources. You may wish to check out two of our other GlobalGiving projects to see examples of the types of livelihood and community development projects we support in local communities: a beekeeping project in Kanga Village and a health clinic project in Kikomolela Village. And if you feel inspired by what you read, we would love for you to support these projects too!
Curious about who is leading project implementation on the ground? Our field partner the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group, employs a staff of over fifty, most based out in the remote villages where we work and making sure your dollars are well spent. You can meet two field officers on our blog: Nuru Nguya and Raymond Nlelwa.
Please help us spread the word about this project during the holiday season. GlobalGiving makes it super easy to make a donation in honor of a friend or loved one and will send the gift recipient a customized email, print-at-home, or physical tribute card – your choice!
From all of us at ARC, warmest wishes this holiday season. We look forward to being in touch in early 2012 with another project update.
