Bakhrol village is 50 km away from Ahmedabad. Bhala Bhai, who established his factory in that village, also established a shelter house for abandoned cows just beside his factory. Everyone in the town loves Bhalabhai for his kind nature. Recently we received a call from Bhalabhai that ‘Gomti,’ a pregnant cow, is not being able to give birth due to a spinal defect from a road accident that she met long back. Our team of doctors, vet assistants, and program coordinators immediately left for Bakhrol.
When we reach the destination, we came to know that the baby had already died in the mother’s womb long back, and villagers took the dead baby out already through a natural process. Our team right away started the procedures of cleaning and secured Gomti from post-birth infection.
It was not an easy task to ease the pain of a heartbroken mother, but our team managed to give her the proper medication to save her life. Right now, Gomti is recovering from her injuries with the help of our doctors and immense love from Bhalabhai and his family. We thank people like Bhalabhai who give a new life to all these unfortunate homeless lives.
