Monsoon is a hazardous season for all stray animals but worse for abandoned cows. These large animals often come on the road for a safe shelter, but they do not understand that open road is a deadly place for them. They can be hit by a speeding vehicle and lose their lives at any time. Bani, a young calf, was homeless a few days back and started staying on the road with other abandoned cows near a marketplace. One night during heavy rainfall, a speeding car could not notice Bani and hit her. Fortunately, the driver controlled the speed, so Bani did not lose her life, but her leg was fractured due to the impact.
A rescue group immediately took Bani to Jivdaya, where our team directly performed surgery with external fixation. The surgery took more than 2 hours. Doctors fixed her bone with 4 external pinnings. After the successful surgery, Bani is healing with love and care at Jivdaya and will soon be shifted to a Gaushala after her recovery.
We salute our team’s determination and the strength of our supporter’s prayer, which helped Bani to stand on her legs again.
