Conservation Nation was started with the goal of working with school children to raise awareness about the importance of the environment and the role individual and communities have to play in protecting and preserving it.
In addition to raising awareness, the project also works with school going children to raise indigenous tree nurseries as well as plant trees to help fight the effects of environmental degradation and climate change.
An initial ten (10) schools were enlisted to participate. All ten did well while the rain lasted but performance has suffered after the rain season. This is mainly due to the erratic water supply at the schools. Currently Conservation Nation is running only in two of the initial ten (10) schools which are also facing challenges with access to water.
It was initially envisioned that funds from the Global Giving campaign would be utilized to help provide water to the schools to support project implementation among other things but the fundraising performance is poor.
We continue to look at ways in which to improve Global Giving fundraising performance. We are most grateful to those that have already rendered their support. Without them, what has been accomplished so far would not have been.
We also continue to encourage previous to share the campaign with their networks and encourage them to support Conservation Nation.
