Conservation Nation was designed to work with young people to raise awareness about the importance of the environment and the role individuals and communities have to play in protecting and conserving it. Beyond that the initiative works to seek and implement locally relevant interventions to the challenge of climate change adaptation and mitigation. While the project has begun operating, it has been heavily reliant on volunteer support thereby restricting its range and scope. To help address this, we designed a fundraising campaign however implementation has thus far been hampered by staffing challenges.
Given the challenges encountered, we are currently encouraging previous donors to consider making recurring donations of as little as $10 a month. While minimal, it will go a long way in helping to meet the desired goal.
We are also asking previous donors to share information about the project with their networks. The idea is to spread the word and find strength and success in numbers and also to encourage new donors to consider encouraging those in their networks to support his work as well.
Even with the challenges the project is achieving results and has been able to work with schools to plant trees at schools as well as start tree nurseries.
In moving forward, we hope to raise the needed funding in order to be able to implement the project in its entirety and thus encourage donors to not only donate but consider making recurring donations and just as important sharing the project and encourage their networks to donate. Without their unwavering support, our work would not be possible.
